Square dancing is an American form of folk dancing. Its roots date back to Europe. Historians believe it is a combination of the Morris Dancers of England and the quadrille of France. It took root in the southern and western states of the United States and is considered the official dance of Colorado, Massachusetts and 20 other states.
It has now become a global dance phenomena. You can travel anywhere in the world where square dancers all dance the same steps. The two most well known versions are Mainstream Square Dance and Plus Square Dance.
Hayshakers Square Dance Club is a member of the Tualatin Valley Council, Oregon Federation of Square and Round Dance Clubs, and National Square Dance and United Square Dancers of America.
We are happy to be a part of this wonderful dancing tradition. Our club dances Sundays from 5pm to 7pm. The monthly club dance is on the 4th Sunday of the month. The location is the Pacific Grange, 90475 US 101, Warrenton, Oregon.
